Pastured Pork Production at Hasselmann Family Farm

In the spring, summer and fall we farrow our pigs on pasture. Farrowing is the process of a pig giving birth. Hasselmann Family Farm runs a farrow to finish hog operation meaning we raise the hogs from birth to slaughter.  By raising hogs this way we are better able to control the quality of our product. The end result is more flavorful, rich and nutritious pork and happy, healthy pigs!

You may find our products every Saturday at the Palatine Farmers Market located in downtown Palatine off Wood St. next to train station.

Market runs May 1st to October 31st every Sat from 7am to 1pm.  Please note: No market Sat July 3rd.

Photo Below is our Cornish Cross Broiler Chicks at 2 weeks old- We raise our broilers indoors for the first 3 to 4 weeks of life at that time they are moved outdoors to move-able pens.  The pens are moved daily to fresh grass this allows the birds to eat and peck at fresh grass and bugs while also protecting them from the elements and predators.
